Holiday Shopping Passport early bird winner #2

Posted Dec 14, 2017

Congratulations to Mary McLoughlin of Peterborough, winner of $500 in downtown money in our second Holiday Shopping Passport early bird draw.

Her name was drawn Dec. 13 at Needles in the Hay at 377 Water Street.

Mary, a local artist with a studio at 129½ Hunter Street West, picked up her prize on Dec. 14 at Christensen Fine Art where she recently shopped with her holiday passport for custom framing.

There’s still one more early bird draw of $500 in downtown money which will be drawn on Dec. 20 with the $1,500 grand prize to be drawn Jan. 10.

The next draw will be:

Wednesday, Dec. 20

1:30 pm

Art School of Peterborough

174A Charlotte Street

This year there are more than 130 participating stores, restaurants, cafes, pubs and service businesses. For the complete list, visit:

Here's how it works: every time you spend $10 at a participating business, a box on your passport will be stamped. When your passport is filled (20 stamps), complete the form and drop it off at a ballot box at one of the participating businesses. Each completed passport is a ballot for a draw to win downtown money. There are more than 100 participating businesses downtown.

The Holiday Shopping Passports program is run by the Peterborough Downtown Business Improvement Area and rewards people for supporting local businesses by shopping, dining and enjoying downtown. Last year’s program saw shoppers stamp $1.5 million worth of Holiday Shopping Passports.
